Theatre and Television are finally under the same Spotlight

The new Hyperion series is designed for large installations such as theaters, film and TV studios with a performance comparable
up to a 5’000W halogen fixture, but with a more compact size and reduced heat production.

Spotlight Hyperion is also the right product to give your theatre stage the “halogen” light that every Lighting Designer always asks
for. In the past with our beloved halogen lights, dimming down to dark, the light produced appeared to be more of a warm/amber
colour and vice versa when the light level was increased the light became whiter. This happens because all incandescent lights
shift the colour temperature to amber or white in relation to the light intensity.
Especially for Performing Arts, those different colour temperatures are very often required to accentuate the warmth of a piece,
but you cannot make easily that incandescent effect with LEDs because they’re generating just one electromagnetic frequency.
In TV applications this is brilliant for the cameras, but it’s not the same for the human eye perception in Theatres and Opera
Houses.
In the Performing Arts we’re working with our emotions, the warm amber white light generates special feelings like when we gather
around a campfire or with candle lights. Warmer amber- shifted light shows skin tones in a more attractive manner so that intimate,
lovely feelings are coming up.
With Spotlight Hyperion 6 LEDs luminaires you can now get exactly this automatic change of colour temperature through an inbuilt
function called Amber-shift, simulating the halogen effect as well as the sun does when it goes down at sunset.

With this appealing cozy function of the Hyperion, the white light will shift automatically warmer and warmer when you dim down
to zero, and you can even adjust the fade delay, so you can emulate the common tungsten lamps as well as the bigger ones.

Dimming functions and tungsten emulation

• Up to 5 selectable dimmer curves:
- linear - gamma 2.6
- quadratic - gamma 2.8
- tungsten

• The last curve includes the possibility of setting the delay in
turning on and off typical of halogen lamps.

• For further realism in the emulation of tungsten sources, the
white adjustment offers the traditional orange toning effect
while decreasing intensity, also known as red, or amber
shift.
